At ALPHA Performance Systems, we work with approximately 50 clients across three main groups: youth athletes, combat sport athletes and women over 30. Their goals range from improving athletic performance to developing general physical fitness, with services delivered through in-person, hybrid and fully online programs.

Working across different client populations and service models requires us to manage varied training methods, logistical requirements and management structures. Program design and delivery software, such as BridgeAthletic, helps us build, deliver and monitor all of these programs within a single system.

Customizing Training for Different Demographics

The clients we work with can have very different training needs. A developing youth athlete and a professional combat sport athlete may both need to improve strength, but their exercise selection, coaching environment and training delivery can differ significantly. The underlying training methodology may remain consistent, while the drill and how it is presented can change based on the client.

This requires having enough exercise variations, progressions and regressions to provide the right stimulus. BridgeAthletic’s Exercise Library feature is particularly useful in this context, giving us access to over 3,000 exercises we can use to build programs uniquely suited to each type of client. We can also create custom exercises, allowing us to add any additional exercises we use that are not already included in the library.

Practitioner’s Guide to Program Design

This means the digital program reflects what we plan on the floor, while clients receive simple, clear instructions for the movements they are assigned. Our coaches can add customized drills that align with their coaching and programming methods.

Similarly, when building training plans, we can build the exercise variation we want, provide clear instruction and keep it within the athlete’s existing program. BridgeAthletic simplifies this process for coaches by organizing exercise creation and customization into three key steps:

  1. Load exercises from the Exercise Library or create them directly in the Builder
  2. Add descriptions and instructional media
  3. Add default parameters, tags and necessary equipment
…we can build the exercise variation we want, provide clear instruction and keep it within the athlete’s existing program.

As a coach, that distinction is important since technology should help organize the program rather than force coaches to adjust their methodology to accommodate limitations.

Delivering to Hybrid and Online Clients

Hybrid and online clients require us to deliver the same quality of programming with less frequent or no in-person contact. Some hybrid clients come into the studio once a month, where we complete a movement screen, body composition scan, nutrition assessment and performance review. They then receive an updated program to complete until their next visit. Other clients are fully online, with some located internationally.

With BridgeAthletic, we can assign programs directly to each client’s phone, giving them access to their training regardless of their location. Having all programs on one platform makes the business significantly easier to manage.

Whether working with an athlete several times per week, a hybrid client once per month or a fully online client, we can adapt programming to their needs while maintaining a consistent coaching framework.

Versatile Features to Address Client Needs

Different client populations may require different features from a program delivery system. In the past, meeting these varied client needs meant relying on multiple tools and systems across the following parts of the coaching process:

  • Training programming
  • Nutrition coaching
  • Accountability
  • Recovery

Program delivery software, such as BridgeAthletic, allows us to pair features with each client’s needs. For example, our general population clients receive nutrition coaching focused on improving their food quality, quantity and timing. BridgeAthletic’s Nutrition features support guidance and adherence, as the Nutrition Engine can calculate calorie targets and allow coaches to use preset or custom macronutrient targets. Clients can then log meals and monitor progress against those values.

The Scan Meal with AI tool also lets clients photograph food or packaging and use the resulting estimates when logging their intake.

Any changes to nutrition should be guided by a trained professional, keeping the coach involved in setting the nutritional framework while giving the client a more practical way to learn from their own choices.

For our youth and professional athlete populations, recovery monitoring becomes more important as these athletes often complete higher training volumes than our general population clients. This is where BridgeAthletic’s Performance Log becomes particularly useful, as athletes can record their recovery feedback before a session, including hours slept, while rating of perceived exertion (RPE) after the session adds a second data point.

Together, these features provide more context on how an athlete is responding to a training block and help inform load adjustments across the training cycle.

Integrating BridgeAthletic into an Existing Workflow

BridgeAthletic integrates into our existing workflow, supporting program development, delivery and client management. Programming decisions remain informed by assessment results, the Performance Log, RPE, athlete feedback and coach observations. The platform helps translate these insights into individualized training programs while providing ongoing monitoring data to inform adjustments.

Having programming, load monitoring, nutrition coaching and client management all in one place reduces the number of tools we have to manage across a mixed client base. That consistency has allowed us to spend more time on coaching and less time managing separate systems.
